Best Sushi in SLC – This place is great. The interior design is modern and cool with warm blasts of color from paintings above each table. The sushi is remarkably fresh and creative enough to overcome the boredom of most other sushi joints. The tempura veggies include some nice additions such as beets and green beans. This is just a cool place. The service is attentive, professional and courteous. My only fear is that this place will become too popular and I won't be able to just waltz in and get a table. Remains Excellent – Fantastic food and competent service. Valet parking is a nice touch.
Sushi chef Takashi Gibo uses only the freshest fish to create his artistic sushi and sashimi plates. – In Short Formerly head chef at Shogun, Takashi Gibo, has taken both his sushi dishes and bevy of loyal customers to a house of his own. On its ever-rotating chalkboard selection, Takashi offers the freshest picks of the day, including Thai mackerel and fatty tuna. The thinly sliced skirt steak atop tempura-fried portobello mushrooms is a standout appetizer. Sushi undeniably is the specialty of the house, but the grilled hal... read more
Mmm Mmm – I have been to Takashi a couple of times now and I've always enjoyed it. The restaurant has a different decor than some others. It gives the impression of an expensive restaurant but isn't more than the typical sushi restaurant. The sushi is great, especially the TNT roll. If you go, order a bottle of the good cold sake. They serve it in a wine glass and it's a nice change from shooting the warm sake.
My favorite – When we walked in to Takashi there was a little bit of a wait, but once we sat down it was definitely worth it! I am a sushi freak and I loved every roll that my friends and I tried. The colors of the walls, the lanterns, and the hanging fish were all amazing. We also tried the kitchen food which was fabulous!
Best Sushi Chef in town – What a change from Shogun where we use to go for sushi. Now Takashi has his own restaurant and it is nicely decorated and his Sushi are even better than before. We went there 4 times and I do suggest early in the week, week ends are to noisy between the music (too loud) and the crowd very hard to hold a conversation without shouting. We highly recommend Takashi's restaurant for (to our opinion) the best Sushi in town.
The BEST Sushi in Utah – I've been Takashi 10 times since it opened about 2 months ago. I use to go to Shogun, but Takashi is better in every aspect. I've tried almost every roll, sashmi and nigiri. Also I never liked shell fish before until I tried the steamed clams - yummy! I was told there is valet parking on the corner for $3. The atmosphere is very hip and has good great house music. The staff is always very friendly. We've come with large groups and they've always done well.
