We moved here from Jefferson County 2 years ago and didn’t realize how much we were paying in utilities until we moved here. I absolutely love Sylacauga utilities! Not only are they pleasant to talk to and we’re saving money but they have been super responsive when we’ve called. We’ve only had a couple of outages that were short and the power was back on fairly quickly. Been living in Sylacauga for almost two years. I've had a total of three contacts with the Utilities board. All three times have been outstanding, courteous and professional. My thanks for the service.
Every time it rains our power goes out. And it takes Sylacauga power forever to fix it! I’m so tired of dealing with them. I want Alabama power to come and take them over. Then we could at least have a system that’s functional during a mild rain storm. Sylacauga is pathetic.
One of the most basic things you could do is to call someone if their water consumption goes up by 300x I had a pipe burst and had no clue until 3 months later i realized i was broke. Because the Sylacauga Utilities Board found it fine to just accept my auto pay that was 300x the regular bill. For 3 months they did not call or semd a single letter. They charge a 2% fuel charge for their trucks. They don't even have to come read the meters anymore. Fuel is a fixed cost and should be included in your rate. If they are running on such a thin margin that we have to buy their gas they need new management. $65 fuel charge!
