A genuine caring and extremely intelligent doctor. He was able to find that certain treatments were creating serious, unusual symptoms. He has treated me for 18 years and always gives me the needed time, as well as goes beyond the norm in his treatments. He listens and cares.
I started seeing Dr. Anwar in 2003. I recall back then that my wait time in his waiting room was always 10-15 minutes & every blue moon, much longer. When I finally met him, I understood the reason for his delay. Dr. Anwar never made me feel rushed. He did a thorough biopsychosocial on me & took his time to get to know me. I saw him monthly for at least 5 years, all while I also saw a counselor for CBT therapy 1-2 times per week. I recall him trying several different mood stabilizers & antidepressants on me for the first 2 y... read more
My husband was spiraling down for several years, after decades of self medicating. Nothing more worked and he was fighting to live. He finally got the care he needed from Dr. Anwar 20 years ago. Rude and abrupt; did not want to listen to what I had to say. I didn't wait seven weeks for an appointment to be treated like that.
Dr. Anwar has atrocious follow up skills, doesn’t return calls about medication adjustments or anything else. He only cares that I pay my copay and have insurance. He couldn’t care less about my mental health well being.
This man saved my life more than once. When I try to give him thanks or any credit, he tells me that he is only a tool and that I did all the hard work.... He saved my life, my job, and my marriage
He triple books or more, he’s always late to appointments and brings other people back while I’m scheduled and waiting in the waiting room for half an hour or more
This man is the absolute lowest of the low. He sits by while his inpatients are mistreated at hospitals he is affiliated with. When I came to him with an eating disorder, he made me step on a scale and tell him my weight, to which he responded "You're fine." He treated me for conditions I did not have. He listened to my abusive mother as opposed to me; his patient. My advice is to stay as far away as you possibly can.
