I had a very disappointing experience at Houston Medical Center Dental. Dr. Swonke advised replacing old fillings on teeth #14 and #15 with porcelain crowns, despite no pain. I trusted his recommendation, especially after he assured me there would be no out-of-pocket costs.Tooth #14: I reported pain before the crown was placed, but the dentist went ahead anyway. Dr. Swonke is awesome - he makes you feel comfortable and somewhat forget that you are in a dentist office.
Was overcharged for a couple of fillings. Dr. Swonke recommended another procedure, but as soon as he left, the hygienist told me I didn't need it. He told me nothing about the procedure, nothing about why I needed it, and seemed reluctant to answer questions. He couldn't get away fast enough. Very unprofessional.
Dr Swonke knows dentistry! He may not win you with his charm, but he knows what he doing and does it well. I am driving in from Sugar Land just to go to this professional

Dr. Swonke correctly diagnosed and abscessed tooth as needing a root canal procedure. Calmed my nerves about the procedure, and performed the procedure on my first visit. His staff was extremely patient and reassuring. Complete departure from my previous dentist, which had dislocated my jaw and caused me a lot of pain. I highly recommend Dr. Swonke and his staff. Extremely pleased.
