On 7/11/26 I came here. Thought the place was lovely. Googled black owned restaurants because I wanted to try another black owned restaurant in the area. Chose those place because of the aesthetics and atmosphere. The Hibiscus lemonade is really delicious. The crab Mac and cheese was pretty good. The only problem is the service is extremely slow! 9:30AM on a weekday, only people there, friendly but extremely slow service, took 40 minutes to get a couple of breakfast sandwiches, half of which had cold breakfast potatoes and some sat in the window for over five minutes while we stared longingly at them… Not disclosed ahead of time (which I’m pretty sure is illegal) is a 3% hospitality fee and 18% gratuity (even for our party of 4). So very slow service and mediocre food but 21% tip.
The last few times I’ve been here the customer service has not been great. I called and made a reservation for 2 ppl today and instead of telling us they had a very limited menu (3 entrees to choose from) they book us and then when we get there they show us the very small chalkboard menu labeled Today’s Specials and then act confused when I asked for the paper menu.
