Event happened over a year ago and I’m sharing on someone else’s behalf. Patient was complaining of sharp abdominal pain. Scans were done then Dr. Vandenhul said all they needed to do was lose weight and eat more salad, and that there were no gall bladder stones. Those were her literal words. Dr Vandenhul and her staff are so wonderful. I appreciate the time they all take and the care and concern they show us.
I've been seeing Dr. Vandenhul since 2020 after my long time primary doctor retired. Dr. Vandenhul is the BEST! She never acts rushed and takes the time to talk and listen to you. I love that she doesn't automatically turn to prescription drugs if she can suggest a diet or lifestyle change. She is thorough and found a (curable) serious condition in me when my symptoms didn't resolve themselves. Would highly recommend Dr. Vandenhul if you want a health advocate that truly cares, listens, and treats you with dignity.
My sister is too nice to write this, so I will on her behalf. My sister went in for medication to treat an infection. Her doctor (who is amazing) was not in the office, so she saw Dr. Vandenhul. Within 3 mins of meeting my sister, Dr Vandenhull said(in a very condescending tone)'If you would just lose some weight ...' Weight was NOT the reason my sister was there, nor did her infection have anything to do with weight.
