Opened in 2006, SUteiShi is a nifty place to have Japanese food and sushi. Its chic interiors with glass and steel latticework along with soft lighting sets it apart from other sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. Savor their dishes like Spicy Tuna Crisps, White Tuna Pizza, Beef Negimaki, Peck’s Peak, Orange Dragon and Kimono.

The Best Sushi this side of the Brooklyn Bridge! – Suteishi is the hottest sushi restaurant in the Financial District. With notably fresh sushi and sashimi and a wide variety of original roll creations, the rotating sushi staff (including the wide renown Tanaka Shigenori) never fails to amaze me. This place stands out as a quality sit down restaurant, suitable for family dinners, get-togethers, romantic dates, or a nice refreshing getaway. Fresh fish, tasty tapas, and high quality sake, beer and wine will draw you in. But th... read more
Replacing the Fulton Fish Market is a GREAT SUSHI restaurant! – I am so excited to have found an excellent sushi restaurant on Peck Slip. One of the first things you notice about Suteishi is the decor. The "woven walls" add a unique and very classy touch and the overall decoration of the space is beautiful - check out the bathroom! The staff is very friendly and attentive, and I was impressed with their interest in creating a fun and relaxing environment. I was unfamiliar with some of the menu items - ie: salmon ceviche & re... read more
Refreshingly Unique Japanese – Went to SUteiShi on a Saturday night and was immediately impressed by the design of the restaurant and sushi bar. Although small, tables are not cramped together and there is a very open atmosphere (not to mention that you can see an amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge). Suteishi's menu is unique. They not only have the typical rolls and sushi that you are used to seeing at any Japansese restaurant, but also have unique ingredients that add a great, different taste (try the Eel on Top Roll). New Seaport Japanese Restaurant with Sashimi that Rivals the Best Downtown – A new, much needed and tastefully decorated Japanese restaurant at the Seaport with melt in mouth sashimi and other unusual dishes. This was my fifth visit and having tried most of the menu, I would highly recommend the deep fried oysters (could eat this every night), seaweed salad lightly seasoned with ginger, lip smacking eggplant, dragon rolls, seafood topped noodles, the chef's special sashimi platters to share (rivaling the best I've tasted in ... read more
Finally, a quality Japanese restaurant downtown with a touch of chic – The first thing that grabs your attention when you enter the restaurant is the decor. The walls are back lit with an Asian motif which makes the place feel very chic. There are also large windows which overlook cobble stone streets and allow you to take in a fabulous view of the Brooklyn Bridge. (Keep in your back pocket for Valentine's Day....) The menu offers you your standard Japanese favorites but upon deeper inspection you will notice some very uniqu... read more
Great new japanese restaurant! – This Japanese restaurant had a great ambiance with its deep red ceiling and intricately patterned walls. The crowd was mixed and the staff was very friendly. I absolutely loved the sauteed eggplant and the dragon rolls! My sushi-obsessed friend who was with me was very impressed that the toro roll contained real toro and said that it was delicious. Since I'm a dessert freak, I especially enjoyed the "mochi" desert (cold, rice flour puffs filled with mango, coffee or vanilla ice cream) and dee... read more
Best deal in town! – Suteishi is a new place in the downtown financial district. Food is excellent, service is attentive, the atmosphere is relaxed without being a "scene" or overbearingly chic, and the prices are certainly fair (food is probably equivalent to Nobu, but without the outlandish prices!). The clientele is diverse, from families to singles to just folks having dinner. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt.
Suteishi has a 4.5 star rating with 712 reviews.
