great suburban sushi – i have been coming to sushi zen through three owners now. the service is always wonderful. and, while the fish portions vary depending on the owners, i feel the product is pretty solid. i usually come here for lunch and feel that i get a lot for the money. i like the sushi deluxe and a stuffed pumpkin, both of which never disappoint. i also like the chirashi sushi lunch (not to be confused with the chirashi sushi bowl, which is disappointing) they are comfortable with subsitutions, too, which is nice f... read more
Best Sushi & Friendly Staff – I was so glad to discover Sushi Zen Mill Creek last year when I moved to the area, I keep going back. The sushi is fabulous, the rolls are creative and delicious. From the innovative rolls, I always order Crouching Tuna Hidden Shrimp and the Seattle Tempura Roll. On the traditional side, you can always get super fresh sushi with the Sushi Zen Special. OK food. – I only came here because i saw that it was on Best of Seattle top 10 and it's relatively close (6 miles) from my work. I was quite dissapointed in the food. The fish didn't taste fresh at all, I'm not sure if I'd be able to tell what it was if I closed my eyes and ate my meal. I had a sushi combo, the cali roll and spicy tuna roll were good, but who can mess that up?? The 8 pieces of chef's choice were not impressive. Great Place for Lunch – I would definately recommend for lunch. They have very reasonable prices on their luch menu, and great tasting food. I usually get one of the bento boxes with a choice of sushi and tempura.
Excellent food, friendly chefs, disappointing service – We went on a friday night around 7:30 and were easily able to park and get a spot at the sushi bar. The chefs were friendly as was our server who was also initially attentive. We informed our waiter that we were in a bit of a hurry, then ordered sushi and an appetizer. Great Rolls! – Sushi Zen's a hot spot with a great variety of rolls. Try the Mill Creek roll! That's my favorite. The restaurant is very CLEAN, which is important (to me)... and the staff are quite friendly. I always enjoy a trip to Sushi Zen.
So Happy Together – I was so sad when Yama San in Canyon Park closed its doors. We've been looking for something nearby ever since. We visited Sushi Zen this weekend. It is in the same parking lot as Safeway in Mill Creek, at the end of a strip-mall row. The interior is clean and modern, basically black but splashed with very colorful walls to keep it upbeat. Best sushi anywhere – This place is great! The sushi is fabulous - try any of the Sushi Zen Original rolls, you won't be disappointed - my favorite is the Crouching Tuna Hidden Shrimp roll. If you prefer something other than sushi, they have a large selection of entrees to please any taste. This is the one place that I reccommend to all my friends!
