GRRRR this place Sucks – I hate to leave a bad review for any restaurant but this place deserves it. Service was refused. – I went to sushi tango hoping it would be a good experience. I've been to the one in uptown and Loved it, so I thought the woodbury location would be as good. When I first entered, I was seated promptly. I got there at 2:50pm. I asked about the happy hour and she said it was 2-6pm and I told her we had a restaurant com coupon. Good quality fish, split service. – I've eaten sushi in several major cities include Tokyo and new York. Food quality was good, roll prep was ok -- a little loosely rolled. Presentation was great considering location. Service was mixed. Quick to seat slow to produce menu and take order. Ordered miso, Average quality. Very large bowl. But also slow to serve. Ordered roll with chef. It came out in better than average time. Hadn't finished soup yet. All in all, not bad. Average to very good in total.
Good Value – While living in Woodbury it was great to have a Sushi Tango so close. The happy hour here is very good and the sushi always tastes great. Great service, great atmosphere.
Fresh Sushi good prices – We've been going to this sushi restaurant for the last year to meet friends on Friday nights. I'm perplexed by the poor reviews from 07 and early 08 but can only guess they were issues surrounding opening a new business. We have always had good and prompt service, the sushi is always fresh and not fishy/dry, and the sushi chef(s) are helpful and will help you select new things to try. okay to eat if your in a rush – Im new to sushi, I was introduced about a month ago. I first tried sushi at Akita, it was amazing!! I was in a hurry one day and decided to swing into Sushi Tango. It wasnt good! :( It was really fishy tasting. Definatly will be going to Akita from now on until I find something better!!!
Lack of Hand-Washing – I like Sushi Tango's sushi, but I recently witnessed something that will cause me not go back. I stopped in for some sushi during happy hour (shortly after 9 PM) and my seat was facing the bathroom hallway. Three, count them THREE male employees used the restroom in a period of about 20 minutes and DID NOT wash their hands. Friendly Service and Really Fine Food – This place is worth trying! The establishment is nestled between several fast food places - so face it, it's hard to offer upscale decore in a strip mall. However, I really enjoy the sushi! The servers have always been polite to me and the food is well prepared. I've had the sushi at Kowalski's and Byerly's and this is better. Fun and great food!!!! – We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by a hurried waitress. We asked for seats at the sushi bar. We were given water and waited a short time to speak to the sushi chef. the fishmongers were engaging and funny. Good spirited and made us feel welcome. there were some people next to us who were sheepish about the food and the chefs coaxed them into trying some new things, all in all the sushi bar was a fun and relaxed place to be and have dinner.
