Macku Sushi is the best Sushi I have ever had in my life. His Chef's Choice option is AMAZING. It will blow your mind.

I was curious about Macku Sushi, having not seen it advertised the way some restaurants are promoted. After sitting through an extremely satisfying omakase, I don't know why it's not on the "You Must Go" list in Chicago. I entrusted my server to just bring something to the table and pair it with sake. 100% winning. I recommend trying menu items other than the usual maki rolls. I had an outstanding dining experience.
Since we were indecisive we opted for Omakase and let the chef choose our dinner. After a good round of querying from our server on allergies, likes, dislikes, we were set. The selections the chef made were spot-on and the presentations were beyond gorgeous. I love that the chef came to check on us several times and our server took time to explain both the dish/preparation and also the origin of the fish.
If you want the finest sushi (and know the difference) in Chicago, this is the place. Not the cheapest, not the fastest, but simply the best. The fish is flown in from Japan. Not coastal US. We had the omakase the other night and just outdid ourselves. Chef Macku is such an enabler! So wonderful to have an opportunity to chat with him as well. Nice man with great stories and we learn a ton about sushi! Thank you!!!
