The sushi was excellent and the chefs were professional, friendly, and attentive. However, as the maitre d' explained in the beginning, the restaurant only had one rule: to remain quiet while the chef explained the current dish being served. Unfortunately, during our visit, there were a group of 4 women that were extremely loud and talked while Chef Masa was explaining each of the sushi, the ingredients, and the preparation. The sushi experience was great and loved the creativity. Fish quality was amazing. Staff was great and kept the group entertained with conversation and great food. The venue is nice - small room with a sushi bar style experience for about 10 people and a group/community style dining experience. Ice cream at the end was a bit of a let down.. it just tasted like soft serve icecream with matcha dusting on top, but I was there for sushi, so this didnt quite matter. This was our 4th dinner experience at Sushi By Scratch in Dallas Texas. We reserve a seat almost every time we visit Dallas. It’s an absolute favorite dining spot and the Sake and Whiskey pairings are a definite highlight. We look forward to our 5th time soon.
We had such a fun and memorable experience! The table size was perfect to feel like you can chat and get to know your neighbors.
