The male bartender on Sunday...the day of the dead parade was a complete and total jack ass..... we left
A place that just like it's patrons is exactly what it advertises... dark, fun, straightforward..... also the only dancing scene in tucson that I have never felt judged or harassed at. <3 <3
Often I will travel 180 miles just to go here. They have great events, excellent service, lovely atmosphere and good patrons. The food is good, the drinks are fast and generous. They consistently have good DJ's, great bands and other events, there is always something good going on at the Wench. The only issue is the parking can sometimes be a pain to find, but that is the same with everything down on 4th on the weekend. If there is only one bar I could go to for the rest of my life, the Surly Wench would be that bar.
For a town slowly loosing its character to corporate bar chains, Surly Wench stands sentry to the Tucson so many love to call home.
This place is packed with character and great beer! What more could you ask for? Highly recommended �
Not impressed AT ALL. We went there as a part of "4thTober" Oktoberfest and all of the establishments involved had small beer pours. Surly Wench, however, was OUT of the "sponsored" beer by 3:30 pm! So if we wanted beer at this place, we had to pay more than we already did for the event. It felt like it was planned that way. We will not be returning to this place.
This nosey server/bartender was intentionally eavesdropping on my conversation while I was conversing with friends. In turn she interrupted while I was speaking on a controversial topic. On how in Russia they beat to death homosexuals. I told her to mind her business and that she should shut the f_ck up. Funny how some women wanna act like they have dicks, hate men, and yet wanna emulate masculine energy. My friends and havent been back since. F_ck this place... Pieces of shit.
Great service and fun crowd. Will definitely come back
