Suby I just got off the phone with a polite individual from Superior Import Repair (02/05/10). I shared my concerns about a possible leaking head gasket on my 1992 Legacy. The guy stated that if it were to be repaired by them parts and labor would be in the $1000 range (it's a big job). When he asked if I was loosing antifreeze and I told him no, he suggested holding off on the $1000 repair and listed steps I could do on my own costing me very little. He told me exactly what to monitor so I wouldn't damage my engine and if I... read more

I wouldn't take my Subaru anywhere else!! "I can't sell you anything else today." WHO SAYS THAT? Dirk at Superior Import Repair is who! Immediately after telling me I actually don't need a brake job & I just owed them for my oil change. If you have a SUBARU I cannot recommend this shop highly enough. They do great work, they're SPECIALISTS, their prices are "reasonable" but more importantly THEY ARE HONEST. I NEVER feel like they're upselling me something I don't need!!

The owner was nice on my first visit. That's been about the end of any good experience I had with Superior Import. I clarified on Monday, first thing, that I had to leave town on a certain day at the end of the week, which he said was no problem. Then, once my car was in the shop, I got very little communication. I ok'd work, which then, a day later, I was called and asked if I wanted to them to do that work--in other words, the car sat their for a full day, and they forgot that I gave clearance, and asked again. The car was... read more

Great experiences with these guys!!!! – To date, I've taken my '96 Subaru to these guys for several oil changes, a suspension fix, an alternator fix, and a bizarre (and somewhat aggravating) issue. Repairs have been done in a timely manner, and I've walked out 1) feeling confident about the fix, 2) feeling NOT concerned about having been had and 3) feeling like the fees were very reasonable (which I guess goes along with number 2...). Most recently, my car was doing this intermittent thing: dying at idle sometimes, and somet... read more

these guys are unwilling to admit mistakes. – These guys seemed to be perfect for the job, since I drive an old 1985 Subaru, and they are the self-professed experts at the older models. The main problem: a gassy engine and very loud. Rich's solution: a new water pump, a new oil pump, timing belts, and drive belts. Total cost of repairs was an expensive, though perhaps reasonable, $600. Their work seemed to help the noise, and the performance of the car improved, but the car is not really any less gassy, for one. Here's the r... read more

not as good as you hear – We've been taking our two Subarus to Superior for little things for several years and they've been okay. Took it in last month for a coolant leak. Got a call shortly after from Richie saying the car was fine, there was no coolant leak. In hindsight that should have been my cue to take it somewhere else, since it was losing a cup of coolant per day. Instead, I asked if it could be a head gasket. Sure enough, got a call back from Richie to say it was indeed the head gasket. A simple compression test w... read more

Disappointed – I try to be an informed shopper and typically research auto shops prior to making appointments. According to City Search reviews, Superior Import Repair received good reviews so I decided to call. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience and will never go back. Here is my story. I called to set up an appointment for a diagnosis and explained that my car sometimes doesn't start. After my description of the state of my car, I stated that I live out of town and was unable to leave my car overnight and that I would w... read more

Friendliest and Most Up Front Auto Repair Shop Ever! – I've never had the best of luck when it comes to auto repair shops. They can always see me coming and I leave feeling ripped off and lied to. I went to Superior Import Repair after reading the reviews and I am very happy to say that everything I read is true! They were very kind and explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. My Subaru had the "check engine" light on and after they did the diagnostic, which indicated it was the knock sensor, they thoroug... read more
