So first of all we arrived for our wedding at the agreed upon scheduled contract time of 1230. The owner said no the ceremony starts at 1pm. The chairs were not set up outside for the ceremony. The place was still being cleaned up from previous night wedding. No staff showed up until 12 noon. He argued with our minister. He argued with the father of bride. I attended a wedding at Sunset and it was AWFUL! The air conditioning was inadequate, you couldn t even use the restroom before the ceremony. The vegetables were cold, the chicken was just past raw (who knows if it got up to a safe temp) The bride had to get dressed in the TINY un-air conditioned bathroom. The bar area was not air conditioned and when I complained the owner said he keeps it that way so people don t hang out at the bar . My fiance and I just visited the Sunset Inn today to investigate it for a possible location for our wedding. Upon initial arrival, the place is quite nice from the outside and does have some stunning views of the lake. That’s where all the good comments end. When my fiance talked to Mike on the phone, we were told to go to the front door, and he will meet us there when we arrived. I went there for my friend's wedding reception in the fall and the food was awful (meat was bland and tough - side mediocre). I feel bad saying that but for the amount of money they should have met expectations. The DJ was fun, but the room seemed crammed for the 60 people that attended. The view was okay. you don't really see much of the water (trees).
