What a disappointment! I've been looking forward to going to Sunflower for some time now. I'm a NYC vegan, with a friend in VA who has recently become interested in vegetarianism. I was so looking forward to taking her to her first veg restaurant, and showing her how wonderful the food could be. Given many other reviews of this place, I had extremely high hopes. All of them dashed.

Outstanding vegetarian fare Outstanding vegetarian food, with most dishes prepared from an Asian/fusion perspective. Try the "Sunflower Forest" dish. Recommended for a funky bistro experience (great wait staff, quirky sunflower-inspired decorations). Note, however, Sunflower does not serve any meat or alcoholic beverages.
Sunflower = vegetarian power Yes, this place is wonderful. Vienna is blessed to have this place. Always nice to have a vegetarian joint right next to a McDonalds on Maple Avenue, West! Sunflower prices are very reasonable during lunch. "General Tso's Surprise" is very good, makes me not miss chicken, but taste like chicken! Dry the almond milk, very good. Not impressed but I am not a Veg... I tried this restaurant for the first time last week and wasn't too impressed. First of all, the atmosphere was crowded and there wasn't a good decor going on. I felt like anything that was related to sunflowers (from an umbrella to Dollar Store junk) was put on the walls. Second, my salad was not good. Fantastic Vegetarian Cuisine Sunflower is a small vegetarian restaurant with many excellent choices for vegetarians and people going out with vegetarian friends. The "General Tso's Surprise" is outstanding and tastes even better than the "real" thing. The staff is very friendly, and the prices are great especially during lunch hours.
Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Virginia! Sunflower is a delicious all vegetarian restaurant, which has a surprising amount of variety and dishes to choose from. The restaurant is small, the staff is very friendly, and the food is excellent. This is definitely the place to go if you are vegetarian or have vegetarian friends. The General Tso's Surprise is amazing, even better than the "real" stuff.
Gotta be meat, right Vegan, but have all meat-eathing friends? Hate the taste of meat, but wondered what it felt like to eat it? Just bored and have nothing to do?
