Fantastic Vegetarian Cuisine Sunflower is a small vegetarian restaurant with many excellent choices for vegetarians and people going out with vegetarian friends. The "General Tso's Surprise" is outstanding and tastes even better than the "real" thing. The staff is very friendly, and the prices are great especially during lunch hours.
Good food. Pleasant service. Give it a shot! I have eaten at Sunflower more than 10 times (including both Vienna and Falls Church locations). Food is great and consistent. The atmosphere is simple, clean and unassuming. Probably not an ideal place for the New York flashy types, but most folks will find it to be pleasant experience.
Sunflower = vegetarian power Yes, this place is wonderful. Vienna is blessed to have this place. Always nice to have a vegetarian joint right next to a McDonalds on Maple Avenue, West! Sunflower prices are very reasonable during lunch. "General Tso's Surprise" is very good, makes me not miss chicken, but taste like chicken! Dry the almond milk, very good. Always top notch! We have been eating at Sunflower Restaurant since it first opened. if you are interested in gourmet level, yet healthy food, this is the place for you! It is located on Maple Avenue, (Rt. 123) just west of the intersectiion with Nutley Avenue. Ironically, for an eatery that is free of MSG, and using only organic flavour enhancement, it stands right beside McDonald's! Prices are reasonable, food is excellent, service is very timely--what more could you ask?
Sunflower I am a meat and potatos kind of guy, but let me tell you I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. I do love vegetables too, and the entrees served here are very good. I found the prices to be very good, and the service was tops. Very friendly atmosphere, and comfortable.
What a disappointment! I've been looking forward to going to Sunflower for some time now. I'm a NYC vegan, with a friend in VA who has recently become interested in vegetarianism. I was so looking forward to taking her to her first veg restaurant, and showing her how wonderful the food could be. Given many other reviews of this place, I had extremely high hopes. The Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant at Vienna location is the original store since 1997. We “ONLY” serve 100% vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes. No meat ever touches our cookware or comes in to our property. We are NOT affiliated with the “Falls Church” store using the same business name.
