The nurse was kind and friendly. Dr. Challa was very helpful in her explanation of my blood work and my progress, as always.
Dr. Challa always runs late. When you are a cancer patient and not feeling well sitting around in a clinic for hours is ridiculous. I heard other patients saying they were leaving because they were tired of waiting for her. When we did have the visit, her primary focus was on recording her observations on a recording device. When she started this we were told to not talk and she would answer questions later. The appointment deteriorated from there. Maybe Dr Challagundla was busy and stressed the first day I came in, but one of the first things you say to a patient shouldn’t be: “If your white blood cell count wasn’t so consistently high I would have just turned you away as people your age usually get some kind of infection.” (I am 19 and was at the time of our first visit) That was extremely disrespectful and she said it to me in front of my mother.
