I was referred by the VA to see a medical doctor specialized in physical rehab, called a physiatrist. Summit reached out with an earlier appointment time, but didn't bother to mention that I would be seeing a PA, a physicians assistant with not even half the training. Mark, the PA, was condescending and critical towards past (real) doctor and surgeon decisions. He didn't bother listening to me either. Dr. Halstrom was very professional and courteous. Explain the emg test results very plainly for me. Would definetly recomend
Originally I was anticipating that I wouldn't have to drive two hours away for care with one of my specialists but I will continue to do so, being that apparently I must be too complex for our local doctors to read past the Google definition for one diagnosis, the other being more common and even listed on their services. The office girls are wonderful, Mark however has been extremely dismissive and should not be apart of the UPMC network. Maybe if I was "old enough", I'd be taken more seriously.
