RecommendedMy husband and I had a scheduled c-section on Thursday 9/24/2020. When I say I was petrified to be going through this procedure as a first time mom is an understatement. We walked in and was greeted by the receptionist and they explained the registration process, once we were sent to second floor for the OB OR and were greeted by the nursing staff and explained for every step what the nurse was doing and why they were doing the tasks throughout the entire process. I just want to thank the amazing crew who helped deliver my son Parker who was born on sept 11. We had an emergency c section and I couldn’t be happier with the nurses, doctors and Anesthesiologist who took care of us. Worried about appendicitis I took myself to the out of the way Summerville ER. From the front door to the ER staff to radiology to the O R what a remarkable group of people. I went the extra distance to SMC because my doctors are there, but was hesitant about COVID exposure. Clean sterile environment all the way through the observation unit. So glad I made the choice. Thank you SMC staff and Dr. Warren my Hospital of choice always. Linda
Summerville Medical Center... your Nursing and ancillary staff are incredible! I would not go anywhere else!! I know that I am here because of the tremendous efforts of many people in many departments. However...I cannot say as much for your registration team ! I arrived via ambulance to the ER and was admitted with acute respiratory failure secondary to COVID 19. I understand the isolation issues, but that could have been easily overcome. I have always loved Summerville medical center. The staff there has always been so wonderful and very helpful. This past Sunday June 14th I took my VERY confused and lethargic 14 year old to the emergency room. She was shaking completely confused and not with it. The emergency room staff was amazing. They acted quickly and admitted her. In an attempt to figure out what was going on. The Dr upstairs in peds did the absolute opposite! I went to the ER in great pain with swelling in my knee, I could not walk, it was Dec 2019. All I wanted and needed was to have the fluid drained. I know my knees, it was a torn cartilage problem. I had no other issues, I had no recent injury. I was heavily pressured to have x rays and blood work done. Note - In 2016 I came in to Summerville Medical ER also for the exact same issue also on a friday night. After a horrible experience at Trident, we went to Summerville Medical's ER. Although the exam rooms are very small, the care we received was top notch! Dena, our ER Doctor, was caring and knowledgeable; Tyler had the BEST bedside manner of anyone ever; Allison, Jennifer, and Virginia were our nurses and they all were wonderful!
