Very nice hospital! I like this hospital because it is small and friendly. I gave birth there three times, and it was always a good experience. The ER can be REALLY slow....be ready for a 3 hour stay no matter what it looks like when you walk in...but they take good care of you.
Probably ok otherwise but don't use ER on a weekend night We had our first ER visit at Summerville Medical Center. To our misfortune, my son needed stitches at 10:30 at night on a Sat. night. There was a waiting room literally FULL of people and not enough nurses or doctors to go around. We only saw one doctor on call and she was waiting on everyone. We finally got called back about 1:30 am and left about 3:30 am. Yes, once we got in the "ER" part for the doctor it was an additional 2 hour wait. There was only the one doctor... read more
Summerville Medical Center Summerville Medical Center is a small hospital which is a brance of the Trident Medical Center. It is a good place to go to for out patient testing and surgery because it is smaller than major hospitals. It is in a clean, new building. Parking is easier and wait time is less.
Called the operator to get a patients room she hung up on me twice. She was very rude and shows no respect very unprofessional.

Summerville Medical Center . Some of your nurses lack any kind of empathy & professionalism. I had a very traumatic experience with Nurse Shannon Patrick. She LITERALLY ignored everything I was telling her about how my IV was hurting more than it should. And it shouldn’t at all.[not to mention I declined having the meds or the IV administered but she still proceeded to ignore me and stick around for a vein that took her literally 30 minutes to find] But after having my CT scan done I asked if she could remove the IV since I ... read more
i had been having a back spasm for 3 days. been trying to take it. Im use to having back pain come and go because my back isnt in the best of shape after giving birth to 9 babies. well yesterday the pain got to the max and i couldn't take it any more. My mom drove from walterboro to my house in Ridgeville just to take me to summerville medical. This is a USELESS AND DISMISSIVE Emergency Room. I went for a bloodclot and DESPITE me explaining there was no trauma, PLUS THE ACTUAL BLOODCLOT WAS VISIBLE, my USELESS nurse did an x-ray and gave a FALSE DIAGNOSIS of a "sprain" and tried to give me a splint. This USELESS nurse then prescribed ibuprofen FOR A BLOODCLOT and said "they couldn't send me for an ultrasound BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T KNOW THAT IT WAS A BLOODCLOT".
