Dr. Teotia specializes in GASLIGHTING! He's a liar and does not listen to his patients because he thinks he knows everything! He couldn't even identify an infection when I told him my expanders were getting an infection. He didn't read the lab report that came back as pus in the cavity and two more visits and complaints about the pain and swelling I was still told I was fine. Dr. Teotia is simply amazing! I am incredibly lucky that I was able to choose him as my plastic surgeon for my breast reconstruction & subsequent phases. I knew going into this process that I wanted to use my own tissue for my reconstruction. I was presented the option for LAP flap due to not having enough tissue for the most common option, the DIEP flap. LAP flaps are very complex & not all microsurgeons can perform them. I had multiple surgeries with Dr. Teotia. Every visit, every surgery, he always made sure I understood what he would be doing, and that I was in agreement. I started with him right as Covid took over the world. Not being able to meet in person due to all the restrictions, he went above and beyond to make sure I was ok and taken care of. I didn't always see him in the hospital, but I understood going in that UTSW is a teaching hospital. His residents were always availabe to me. I had a double mastectomy and Dr T did the reconstruction. He has done an amazing job. He has been very informative about what he is doing and has made sure to make my breasts symmetrical.

I had 5 surgeries within 6 months where Dr Teotia was the reconstruction surgeon post-lumpectomy, then bilateral mastectomy. I was always very specific what my expectations post-surgery were. At no time were my expectations- which were based on other glowing reviews & UTSW employees- met in the least way. My fifth surgery left me in such pain, I could barely stand it. Dr. Teotia should be working in a meat market or in Dr. Frankenstein's lab. He did not listen to my questions, and did not explain anything to me. He was more concerned with his $3k pen and his ridiculous outfit. He was dismissive and because everyone at UTSW gave him a good reference, I made the mistake of trusting hearsay. I felt that he experimented on me and when he was done I had severely deformed breasts and tummy area. I had a double mastectomy due to cancer. He did the reconstruction and turned out badly. My right boob is very low and has saggy skin on it. The left is very scared due to an infection and a wound vac. The left is much bigger than the right. I asked him if he could fix them and he told me no. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
