Front staff were great but I was here for nearly 3 hours. My appointment was at 2:15, and I did see another technician for my eye exam (who was great) but Dr. Portis did not get to me until 4:40 (and still had other patients to attend to after me), so I felt like I was rushed and he was dismissive trying to just get me out so he could go home. He cut me off mid sentence more than once.
Flew to Hawaii without my glasses or spare contacts. Naturally, got an eye infection on the flight over and thus, was stuck without any way to see! They squeezed me in same day (by a stroke of luck) and helped me out immensely. Got a full eye exam for glasses and was able to go to lens crafters to get a pair first thing in the morning. My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Portis for over 20 years and have always been impressed and very happy with our care. He performed my wife's LASIK with great results, and he just replaced my cataracts with Toric lenses and the Femtosecond laser, with fantastic results. Excellent service and very efficient! Even during a pandemic they seem to have a great process down for serving a number of patients efficiently so that the waiting room doesn’t get backed up or crowded.
I had Lasik surgery twenty years ago, but my vision in recent years had become increasingly farsighted with early stage cataracts, not eligible for insurance reembursement for cataract surgery and additional Lasik surgery being problematic. In consultation with Dr. Portis, we decided to undergo refractive surgery, essentially similar to cataract surgery with lens replacement.
