hands down my favorite place for sushi. I could eat here everyday if there wasnt a risk of mercury poisoning. updating based on a few past experiences: the wait time can be ridic.
Small restaurant that does not take reservations. Excellent sushi with great service. Clean restaurant.
The quality of the fish is fantastic. The lighting is a little dark, but they make up for it in service. They also provide free sushi on your birthday.
We had a great dinner here recently. Parking is a little tricky, since they are right on Ventura Blvd and they do not take reservations. We walked in expecting a wait and they were able to seat us immediately - yay! I ordered The Nozawa for $42 and it was a perfect amount of food, and the fish was incredibly fresh. I love the ease and simplicity of their sushi and I will definitely be back.
Great addition to Pasadena. Located in the shoppers lane complex on S Lake. Ave, the restaurant is not visible from the street, it's tucked behind Lemonade. You should park on the structure behind the building. As with other Sugarfish, it's the same menu, "trust me" seems to be the popular one. You get some sushi, some rolls, edamame and sashimi. I typically add uni to my order. The sushi rice is consistent every time I come here so it's worth it.
Solid sushi. Go early since they don't take reservations and the line gets very long. Best value are their prefix menus as it allows you to have a variety at a low price. Service can use a lot of help. Servers have a high sense of entitlement since the tip is automatically added to the bill.
My girlfriend and i had the Nozawa taste me option and it was delicious! Most of the sushi comes with the sauce already on the sushi and you use soy sauce on ones that don't. Some of the sauces are quite unique and may not be for everyone. The rice was melt in mouth perfect and fish super fresh and buttery. I like more of a traditional sushi but sugar fish definitely worth a try.
My boyfriend and I tried the Nozawa set and the sushi was delicious. The sushi was fresh and everything melt in your mouth! I minuses one star because I felt majority of the option was covered in sauce so it was difficult to taste the fish itself. The wait was not too long since we came before the dinner rush and the service was good.
Fantastic sushi, great spot.
