Chicken and waffles was good, soup was great, and the cinnamon bun was delicious. Parking is slim, but you can usually find paid parking in the side streets behind
The Sugar Bowl is know for it's Cinnamon Buns (which are GREAT), but they also have the best Omelet in town. Very fluffy with great extras (bacon, cheese and mushrooms). Try it, you'll like it. Also a shout-out to Jen W. A really nice person (as are all their staff).
We stopped by Sugar Bowl Cafe on Whyte Ave a few days ago and ended up staying way longer than planned, just enjoying the patio in the late morning sun. My husband raved about the perogies, and I had a soup and sandwich combo that hit the spot after a morning of walking around the neighborhood. The staff were friendly and didn't rush us at all even though we camped out with our coffees for a good hour chatting. It has that cozy, lived in feel that made two old sightseers feel right at home.
