Su Casa

About this business

Opened in the 1960s by Ike Sewell, better known for inventing "Chicago Style Pizza" at nearby Uno's, this spot quickly became one of the most popular places for Mexican food in the city, and the wait reflects this. Su Casa is located in a converted 1867 carriage house, which adds plenty of character to your experience as you dine on traditional, Mexican fare. The burritos are not to be missed and neither are the margaritas. Call ahead for further details.

Best carnitas we’ve ever had! If you know what carnitas is, you know how much work goes into it. The fact that they make this in-house is even more 🏼 Our server and the other staff members, like Pepe and Ervin, were so friendly and welcoming. Aside from the carnitas, the fish tacos were also amazing. I’ve only ever had battered fish in my tacos, but Su Casa serves it grilled, and it was delicious!

My husband and I had lunch on 8/29/19. While there, the manager, Rosa, was very verbally abusive to our waiter, Ervin. She argued with him loudly and told him to shut up....all this infront of eating customers. As we left, I asked to speak with Rosa and asked her to reconsider her supervisory approach as she appeared very unprofessional. She told me she was learning and she'd get better. This was disturbing and unpleasant..... that's not how I like spending my lunch break. Alma

My daughters, my sister and I had a Wonderful Time last night! The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect and our server was awesome. We are from Detroit, but when we come back to the Chi, we will definitely go back!

We stopped at Su Casa for a late night nite and couldn’t have had a better experience! Ervin was our server and took great care of us. The portions were huge so we had a ton of leftovers which he happily boxed for us. He even gave us extra chips to enjoy with our leftover queso! I highly recommend trying Su Casa out!
