I had the Margherita pizza and an arugula salad. The pizza melted in my mouth and the flavors were fantastic! The salad was good and I also had the Italian fried donuts which were also delicious! I am mad that I didn't try this place sooner.
Best authentic Italian in VA! Everything was so fresh and rich! Excellent ! The owner was really cool too.
We had a 6:30 reservation. There was a latge party without a reservation waiting for a table. The manager/bartender gave the table to the party without the reservation leaving us without any chance of a table. He never apologized for the mistake, in fact he lied that they had a reservation. He also never greeted other parties waiting at the door. They left. Has to be the worst experience I have had in a long time.

Trying the $2 pizza night which is only available when you sit at the bar or pizza bar only to have the owner call in to tell employees kids can't sit at either bar. Meanwhile both bars are packed with kids and the poor employees are left to field questions without a manager or the owner in sight. Terrible customer service and change of policy in the middle of prime dinner time. Will not be back for $2 pizza or $11 pizza.
1 star for the professional and attentive waitress that took care of my 4 girlfriends and me. Otherwise, I would not recommend this restaurant due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of its bartender/manager and because there are too many GREAT restaurants (Italian included) in RVA to waste time here. Even if the food was memorable, I would not return because of the way we were treated. There's a reason why you don't need reservations.
This is the real deal ! I'm a transplanted New Yorker and a local Richmond chef , and food writer. I am gluten free , so I ordered the chicken piccata with broccoli rabe . It was heaven on Earth. These guys do it right ! The flavors are carefully brought to their highest potential , and beyond . Delicious ! I found Peter and his staff to be attentive and caring. 5 stars. Can't wait to eat there again !
