Went in there on a Friday late afternoon with what I thought was an apendicidis-related pain. Waited about an hour which wan't very pleasant but once I got in there I was treated well and even better, the young doctor was able to detect an early case of the shingles and to prescribe an anti-virus medication right away. Overall a positive experience despite my condition.
Went in on a Saturday afternoon. I’m usually a Queens person since they are my PCP but none had an x ray tech in today. Called ahead of time to make sure an x ray tech was in, they were really friendly and accommodated me. I was in and out in less than 2 hours, everybody was super friendly and it was very clean.
I am sick for more than a week and down with sinus infection with green snot and blood and constant night coughing. The female doctor Susie Chun was not concerned she told me my condition will heal by itself and why I even bother to come to an urgent care. She blamed the last doctor who gave me antibiotics for my whooping cough and asthma in my last visit which was months ago whereby I couldn’t breathe with bad asthma. Rude phone customer service. Diagnosis was wrong. I was lucky my Doctor gave me the correct medication. I was forced to go here because it was a Saturday. Learn my lesson
The team and amazing care I have received at Straub Medical Center at Ward Vilalge is amazing. More specifically, Dr. Laura Hernandez is So amazing. Her warmth, expertise, and the generosity in the time she took to talk me through my options and insurance processes was next level above and beyond. Having worked in a clincal setting I know how rare it is to find a provider as kind and knowledable as her. Trying to establish primary care in Hawai'i is an actual nightmare, but holy hell am I glad I found Dr. Laua Hernandez.
