I came to the ER with my mother today, and the experience was honestly unacceptable. The person we interacted with—Tiara, I believe—was extremely rude and dismissive from the beginning. I was there as my mother’s guardian, but she cut me off while I was speaking, spoke with attitude, and later told me to step out just to get a phone number. Then she brought in a translator without any explanation, as if I wasn’t even part of the process. I was really impressed by the service I received here today. I presented to the hospital with abdominal pain and was instantly seen by a doctor, promptly had a CT scan to establish a diagnosis of appendicitis, and then proceeded to surgery without much delay. The whole visit took less than 7 hours. All the staff I interacted with were genuinely caring and lovely. Thank you to all involved with my care!

After arriving in Honolulu, my husband became extremely sick with a stomach virus. The staff at the Straub ER were super kind, professional, and worked so efficiently. It was very impressive. A big shout out to Dr Jennifer Oyama for excellent care!!
