For the TL;DR crowd, here’s the heart of the matter. We hired Stratton Inspection to inspect our house prior to purchase and they missed something big. In May of this year, the sewer line backed up because it was completely infiltrated with tree roots. I won't leave just one star because until my recent serious maintenance issue I felt comfortable that my inspection by Stratton had been thorough and complete. However, yesterday a HVAC company sent by my home warranty company discovered blatant and obvious drainage and ductwork issues in my attic unit that even the HVAC representative stated should have been found by the home inspector.
