great food What a wonderful place to visit on a cold fall day. They make the most delicious butternut squash soup. It is creamy and sweet, like pumpkin pie. I wish it were fall year round just so we can enjoy this more often.
Please reconsider dining here! I have eaten there four times, once for a private party, once for a regular dinner, and twice Thanksgiving. You'd think, given that, that I liked it, but that would be incorrect. It was barely acceptable for the private party (made better by the company). The regular dinner took more than an hour to get my food (everyone else was served and was eating dessert and drinking coffee to be polite to me when my food arrived!). Both Thanksgivings (the second yesterday) were horrible. The seating in th... read more
Storrotown Tavern One of the favorite excellent dining experiences in Springfield area. A historic building with carm and glow and a wonderful staff and menu selections. Never had a bad meal at Storrotown...Great place to meet friends.
Not to Be Missed The Storrowton has always provided exceptional dining. We had a Christmas party there, and everybody was very happy with our choice of venue for once! Lunch is a deal and a half. Great sandwitches and they have a 'relish tray' in the bar. On the day I went there the tray was full of cheese and other appetisers. The waitress kept bringing more over. I skipped dinner that day!
Well, who doesn't like Storrowton? It would be like a West Side sin to say anytihng bad and there really isn't anything too bad to say. Getting inside in the winter is a pain, the bathroom is too small and the food can be expensive. Menu could be bigger, especially at lunch but the atmosphere remains quaint and warm. I wouldn't want west side to ever be without it. They do a really nice wedding in their larger facility where you can actually move around. I do not recommend holiday meals there, though. Boring.
Storrowtown Tavern Good place to have a large party. The service was good. Nice waiters/waitresses The room size was excellent. Food was okay. I would go to another party if it was held there.
Satisfactory Storrowtown Tavern is a great little place in West Springfield, but not such a great neighborhood. It is very clean and the service is great. A little on the pricey side.
Great winter retreat Sit by the fireplace and warm up while you try to decide what to eat. The traditional New England fare is matched by an old world atmosphere. I love the veal dishes, Yankee pot roast, and chicken pot pie here and have always enjoyed the service. There is always plenty of parking.
Storrowton Tavern Growing up in West Springfield, I've been to the Storrowton Tavern many times through the years. I remember large parties there - food is great, service can't be beat and the atmosphere is tops. Its definitely worth the drive if you don't live nearby. An earlier review stated that it's not located in the best neighborhood. I don't know what that means. Its not in a neighborhood at all - its on the Big E grounds and on busy Memorial Avenue - but its safe and easy to get to. Bon Appetit!
