As my 12th year as an SBCC nears, I am reminded of meeting my Oncologist , Jules Cohen for the first time .He was calm & spoke with a soft voice that was comforting. He still possesses the same demeanor. Dr.Cohen responds to emails/ calls in a timely manner.He gives gentle & informative suggestions yet, leaves the patient feeling ,fully in charge of their treatment plan & choices.I am fortunate to have a physician, with whom I am able to discuss things that may arise, in a respectful way. In previous reviews, I shared I had been " Abandoned" by the Social Workers at the Cancer Center in Aug. 2025.Today, I finally found out the causation of this " Patient Abandonment " issue. It is due to some of my reviews that state & illustrate the frailties of the Onc Social Work Dept.I wrote reviews to attempt to enlighten patients as to , the lack of knowledge & support especially ,from 2 Onc Social Workers. If you are a patient as Cancer center , be advised there is " so called" SW , Samantha Conti who is very poor at knowing many helpful resources for her patients..I went to a foundation to get lists of resources..I had No idea all that is out there for survivors..IMAGINE never meeting your assigned SW in 2 years..Unacceptabel!! She is awful at what she is supposed to be doing for clients/ patients.Be aware if Jules Cohen is your ONC..she is who you get ...please , do yourself a favor and ask for a different SW.. one whonis se... read more

To all the SB cancer center patients that see, Jules Cohen..Please, be advised you are assigned a Social worker ..Her name is Samantha Conti. Be acutely aware ,she knows of zero grants that patients qualify for, she never introduced herself to me in over 2 yrs, she is defensive and profoundly inept at her job as a Social worker and fails as a compassionate human being.Please advocate for yourself and ask for a another S.W who knows how to navigate patients needs and is in communication and will go the extra mile..Because we ... read more

I am a long time patient at SB CC , my biggest gripe is a" so called ", Social Worker In Oncology Who works with Dr.Cohen.Her name is Samantha Conti.She is literally a walking ghost in the building. She complains about being overloaded with patients, which is inappropriate to share with a patient.She has Zero knowledge of grants that are available to MBC patients.In my 11 years of being Dr.Cohens patient, I have NEVER met her.Appaerntly there are a calendar of events that have support groups, classes etc.and she had the wro... read more
