Situated in New York's Stone Street Historic District, this tavern offers nostalgia galore, from the building's architectural detail to the cobblestone street where visitors dine alfresco. The tavern menu presents classic pub fare like burgers, sandwiches, salads and small plates while the bar slings a diverse mix of beers, wines and craft cocktails. Flies and FLEAS – Disgusting, so my little tiny flies almost fleas on my salad - complained, waitress did nothing.
Lobster Mac is to Die For! – Paid a visit to the Stone Street area when I was showing some friends around some tourist sites (the Bull, World Trade, and South St) Decided to stop by my old stomping ground, Stone Street. It was unseasonably warm for February and the street was mobbed with people anxious to shed their winter coats. We arrived around 7 and were able to get a table by the window. The server was fantastic. Very friendly and talked with us for a while about New York and the area. She suggested the Lobster Mac and ... read more
neighbourhood fav – This really is my go to place at wkends, much more chilled and much better food than the other bars on the street. I always find myself going for brunch which usually turns into early evening drinks. Stuffed French Toast and Eggs Capresse are awesome. For some reason other restaurants on the street are lacking on their brunch menu but Stone Street Tavern really have a good, varied brunch menu. Service has always been great and the staff are always friendly and attentive...my male friends always love to co... read more
Always busy, but worth the wait! – I went to stone street with some of my girlfriends and we were some of the very few girls there, mostly all men from wallstreet (nothing wrong with that) haha but the food is great and they have a wide selection of beer to make you happy!
What happened to this place? – We wanted to show our friends a good time and have always enjoyed the Stone Street Tavern. On this Saturday it wasn't particularly busy, so we looked forward to a nice dinner. The waitress took her sweet time taking our drink order, the drinks took 15 minutes to get to the table and the meal another half an hour. After an initial check, the waitress never came back to check on drink/water refills. One of our guests had to flag down a busboy for a second round of water and drinks. The place seem... read more
AWFUL service – I've never written a review before, but I couldn't get over how awful this place treated its customers. I had to get it out there. Please don't go. Rudest waitresses ever. Then they sneak in a tip on the weekends because they know how bad the service is. Will never, ever, ever go back.
Go Elsewhere for Brunch – After a heavy night of drinking, three friends and I were starving and decided to wander to Stone Street Tavern for brunch. What was supposed to be a nice Sunday afternoon meal turned into one of the most stressful brunch experiences I've ever had. We walked in at 12:05. We were seated immediately, and since we were hungry due to mild hangovers, we ordered our drinks and food right away. Then we noticed a large group of about 25 people seated in the back. They were extremely rude and inconsiderate; ... read more
Service was the worst I've had in a long time – OMG, What a disappointment. Was really looking forward to eating here, but be warned the service can be TERRIBLE. Our waitress was possibly the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Our food order came out, and was completely wrong - thats ok, I understand mistakes can be made - but she did not apologize at all when we told her what was wrong, at that point I felt compelled to leave - and we did just that. Shame, the food looked great, but again I cannot un... read more
Best bar on Stone Street – This bar is a gem downtown. There are a few good places on Stone Street but The Tavern stands out for its unique personality and friendly atmosphere. The service is consistently good (and good looking!). Love hanging out here after work.
