Do NOT attempt to travel into Stone Mountain Park via East Mountain Street. Just spoke with Linda Keeling of non-emergency and roads and not only was she rude and did not allow me to finish my statement, she raised her voice to me. Your campers, cars, trailers, bicycles, strollers tires will be shredded traveling towards the East Gate. She ranted that its not their problem. Shame on you Stone Mountain Park.
wasn't expecting to be able to actually walk on top of the mountain...took my grandsons ages 10 13 and 15. the youngest one is studying monuments in summer school in st. louis..here's one he could discuss in class

We stayed on Memorial Day. This trip had been on my list for several years. It definitely did not disappoint! We enjoyed every part of the park and added the Duck Tour. This is a great place for families of all ages!!
We had a blast as always! Can't wait to come back!

Camp site 173 - water, electric and grill approx 100 ft from campsite. Roots make walking around very dangerous, land very uneven. Bathhouse was dirty and no benches to store personals in the shower are. Needless to say, I wont be staying there any time soon or ever.
