Used to love this store but lately the quality is way down & prices up. Just got a bag of moldy carrots & a practically inedible roast from their "4-day sale" -- a waste of money & time. Contacted them via their website but they didn't even bother to respond. I've also had poor quality chicken, spoiled scallops, rotten potatoes... so their quality control (or product sourcing) seems to have gotten pretty bad. :(
Recently my wife and i visited the danbury Connecticut store on our way home from a birthday party and picked up a big package of new york whole strip for $67.87 which for the 3.99 a pond was great and since I always visit the Newington store i said hey lets give it a shot. Well it turned out awful once we got home to cut up our steak for dinner which was 17lbs but when we opened the package and started to cut it was 9.2 ponds of fat and 7.8 pounds of actual meat that shredded when we tried to cut.
