Just referred to Dr Abo.
He had six weeks to talk to my surgeons, which he said he would in the initial appointment and never did. He also made me wait 6 weeks to just pass me off, done by his nurse. He is rude and dismismissive, with zero compassion. Doesn't follow up. Pick anyone else.
Recommending anyone else. Too arrogant and unavailable to offer any kind of medical care. For whatever reason, he tops the list for UPMC primary care referral. There are plenty of gastroenterologists in the area, who practice at UPMC facilities, if that's your preference. Seriously, get referred to ANYONE ELSE.
Dr Abo found my stage 3 colon cancer last year after numerous other doctors failed to do so. He is kind & professional.
I know that sites mostly publish negative reviews. To keep the record more balanced and to speak honestly, Dr. Abo has been my gastro for almost 20 years. I have never experienced anything other than kindness and gentleness, openness and honesty. I have had numerous colonoscopies, and have IBS and several other issues. Always treated well, with his deep knowledge. I say KUDOS!!!!
