Dr. Matzinger takes time to explain the need for upcoming surgery and what to expect post-op. He has a very caring style, answers your questions fully, and does not rush his appt with you. Robotic multiple-hernia surgery resulted in only mild discomfort for two days after surgery. His staff is pleasant, and his Physician Assistant Joe is amazing. Overall, my experience with Dr. Matzinger, his PA Joe, and his office staff was excellent.
Dr. Matzinger did two procedures on me recently at Grand Strand medical center. He is in my opinion an excellent surgeon who explained everything to me in a straightforward and honest manner. His expertise in robotic surgery made my recoveries quicker and easier. I have very high confidence in this doctor and would go to no one else in the future.
I have held the telephone for over 20 minutes to reschedule an appointment. First time I called it was longer and I finally hung up. Dr. Matzinger is an excellent surgeon. Getting in touch with someone at his office, however, is a nightmare. Still holding phone.
I had hemorrhoids - not little ones but big ones. Dr. Matzinger explained the procedure to me and made sure I knew what to expect. There were no complications even though it turned out to be more of a job than he expected. As he said, the first few days after the surgery were bad but each day saw more progress. Now, three and a half weeks later, I'm a little sore but it's WAY better than it was. The follow-up visits with the PA were very helpful in providing answers to my questions.
