A full hour after my arrival, Dr. Lerner’s front desk lady and the same nurse who had straightened the pillow and paper cover on the examination couch a while ago came in and asked to take my height. My height hasn’t started changing yet. That was obviously some busy-work they were sent to do to keep me entertained after I had already wasted a full hour waiting. Looking for an urgent pulmonology consult I was ready to sign up for the concierge doctor as Dr. Lerner’s website promised “same day” or “next business day” appointments. His office staff, however, informed me that the next available appointment was only six weeks from now, upon which I asked why the website would provide inaccurate information.
