Could not walk, did not know why, on my first visit he showed me the compression in my spinal cord, in four days after surgery I was walking again.

He was straight forward and didn’t sugarcoat about my condition. I liked his directness. I had major back surgery in 2003 and just now started having issues again so I feel he did an awesome job because with my condition most people have multiple surgeries ever few years.

Went to see Dr. Cathey for a back injury because Worker's Comp sent me to him. He basically told me there was nothing he could do and proceeded to shoot down every suggestion my wife and I made to him as alternatives to surgery. He ended the appointment by telling me I could file for disability or work with the pain. Kept telling me I probably had thirty more years to live with this. His demeanor was flippant. He grinned like a politician and talked like a used car salesman.

I saw Dr Cathey recently. I saw him about lower back pain, I've had surgery in the past and Dr Cathey was adamant that he didn't "believe" in lower back surgery. Suggested that I was stupid for having it before. I asked what I could do about the pain and he said pain pills, I told him that I had trouble functioning with pain meds. When I asked what other options I have, he said a Wheel chair. He said "the bad news is, you'll probably live another 20 years!" Unbelievable! No compassion

This doctor is a complete joke. I was in a car accident and went it for an appointment. He didn't spent 2 minutes with me, told me there was nothing he could do and that he wasn't that kind of doctor, then proceeded to take $300. Additionally the AC sounded like it was going to blow up and I wasn't even greeted by a nurse upon arrival. The check in counter has a closed window and they didn't open for like 20 minutes.
