50 yo, longstanding prescription for well-documented family health issue. Sought simple refill and had my issue dismissed as nonexistent and mere 'anxiety' which was then explained to me like I was twelve years old and never heard of health anxiety before. Refilled my prescription as if he were humoring me, so I 'can keep taking it if I like.' Classic experience had by coubtless mature women across America. Imagine a man treating another 50 y.o. man this way.
In all the years that my husband and I saw Steven Bruner, he never once addressed either of us by name.
Dr. Bruner was rude and was too busy gossiping about his other employees whom he didn't like.
Ignored several ongoing and deeply painful health concerns I brought up (including numbness in the extremities, debilitating shoulder pain that leaves me bedridden, and rashes). Refused to provide a referral for an issue even after I insisted, telling me it wasn't an issue even though there is family medical history behind my concern and symptoms (cancer). Huge waste of time and money.
Really short appointment to request a refill for a medication, first time meeting with Dr. Bruner in particular. Made no effort to try to get to know me. When he asked me which pharmacy to fill at and I told him "[a pharmacy outside of the clinic] if that's okay" he made the comment that it "was not okay, but he can call it in" like it was a bother. Made me feel unsupported...and since this medication was for mental health, I would expect more compassion. I had better luck with other providers at Watkins.
Cut me off every time I tried to bring up my concerns, criticized my decision to stop taking a previous medication, and pressured me into taking a new one I said from the beginning I was not interested in. He was very rude the entire time and left me feeling worse off than when I came in.
Does not listen to parental concerns, nor does he spend any time going over signs and symptoms to the point of refusing to care for his patients.
