I went in last week for my first eye exam. I too am on Minnesota Care. I found the staff to be very helpful and polite. They explained only certain frames would be covered under my insurance, and I was happy with their selection. They easily had over 75 frames to choose from between the three Medical Assistance plans. I would recommend this business.

I agree with you 100% The doctor is very polite and thorough. The employees are absolutely disrespectful, rude, unprofessional, absent-minded, arrogant, and abrasive! There are two main employees and Lori is the lesser of two evils. She wears glasses and has very short hair. I have experienced a ton of discrimination based on my income or insurance from all types of organizations: retail, government, hospital/clinics, dentist, optical care, mechanics, department stores, service providers, and just people in general. Would not honor Groupon. Employee on phone said it was fine, when I went in to pay for my new glasses the Manager of the Brookfield, WI store stated that the Groupon was not valid with insurance because insurance reimbursement to Sterling Optical is considered an "offer". Really? No where on the Groupon does it mention anything about not being valid with insurance. Insurance is not an offer it is a reimbursement. Frames were very expensive and were not on sale either. This location is no longer owned by the franchise owner that has been mentioned in the previous reviews. It is now a corporate store with wonderful employees. Please do not avoid this store because of the previous reviews!

The people who work at this place do not care about the customer. I purchased a pair of glasses with a progressive lense and can barely see out the the lense. The associate told me he could replace the lense and then within five minutes he said it wasnt a good idea and REFUSED to replace the lense. He then told me I would have to spend more money to correct the lense. Stay away from this place. He also turns over the receipt and points to their policy after I have spent over \$300 on a pair of glasses that I can not use. DO ... read more
