Would not honor Groupon. Employee on phone said it was fine, when I went in to pay for my new glasses the Manager of the Brookfield, WI store stated that the Groupon was not valid with insurance because insurance reimbursement to Sterling Optical is considered an "offer". Really? No where on the Groupon does it mention anything about not being valid with insurance. Insurance is not an offer it is a reimbursement. Frames were very expensive and were not on sale either. This location is no longer owned by the franchise owner that has been mentioned in the previous reviews. It is now a corporate store with wonderful employees. Please do not avoid this store because of the previous reviews!

The people who work at this place do not care about the customer. I purchased a pair of glasses with a progressive lense and can barely see out the the lense. The associate told me he could replace the lense and then within five minutes he said it wasnt a good idea and REFUSED to replace the lense. He then told me I would have to spend more money to correct the lense. Stay away from this place. He also turns over the receipt and points to their policy after I have spent over \$300 on a pair of glasses that I can not use. DO ... read more
I happened to be trolling on Yahoo leaving a comment (a good) one, for a restaurant. Then I got to thinking, I wonder if Sterling in Brookfield is on here. Well, last summer I left a review for Sterling on Google review and Im going to leave one here too. Sterling is without ANY doubt, the worst business Ive ever had to deal with!!!!!! I have been to alot of optical stores and this one was great. I was screwed at one of the major chains. I decided to come here and got an exam glasses and contacts. The doctor was very good and did a great job with my contacts. I got a year supply of contacts and a free pair of sun glasses. I also got frames at 1/2 off. There lenses were cheaper than others but not by much I think they made it up with 1/2 price frames. I would have to say they did a better than average job.
Great doctor. Picked up some nice specs at a great price.
They cant figure out how to bill insurance companies. I have been going back and forth for 3 months trying to get things paid.
