I had a minor discoloration on my nose and changed area around that spot. Went to this 'doctor'. He completely dismissed my concerns. Said it was just a spot old people have (it did not look like that to me, though). Well, now, a month later, I have an area of inflamed skin tissue, red and bumpy, probably actinic keratosis instead of just a minor discoloration. This can turn cancerous. Instead of treating the spot when it just started I now will have to pay more money and go through much more invasive procedures to treat tha... read more
I a 20 year old female do not recommend this doctor. The appointment lasted five minutes just to tell me a false diagnosis and made a uncomfortable environment. Very unprofessional.
My daughter, who is 18, had a visit with Dr. Flax about some purple welts that she's had on her toes for a long period of time. He was condescending and rude. He spent about 3 minutes with her. When she asked him if he wanted to see her feet his response was "how else am I supposed to see the welts?" Then he just completely disregarded them as being caused by years of dance. Terrible doctor. He will never listen to his patient. And he rushes every appointment. DO NOT GO TO HIM! Seriously do not even go!!
My tween daughter has a rash on her face and anything we put on it burns and itches. We've tried OTC lotions. He diagnosed her with a form of eczema. He asked why we put anything on it. We told him it was dry, itchy, red, and bothered her. He told us there was nothing he do for her face but could give her something for it on her arms. If your face is dry, scaly and irritated, why wouldn't you? And at a critical time in her life (self-esteem), he couldn't recommend anything? I pressed him, he recommended some over the counter... read more
Skills as a dermatologist are adequate - devoid of any personality
Scheduled a skin check with Winchester Dermo Asscs and was assigned to Dr Flax. His skin check was cursery at best, looked (never touched) at skin and never looked below the belt. This with the knowledge I have had multiple Mohs surgeries for basal and squamous cells. A 60 year old Dermo foc should know better, I was just another Medicare fee.
I have been a patient of Dr. Flax for a number of years and have been very pleased with the services provided. He is always very detailed and professional.
I have been seeing Dr Flax for over 2 years now and he has always been professional and very personable. He explains all my options and always answers my questions.
