We were seeking a second opinion for our 3m old son, and our only option within UPMC was Dr. Mendleson. After reading reviews, we were a little worried about how our experience would go. Dr. Mendleson was wonderful and completely surprised us (based off of reviews). He was informative, patient, very kind to each of us and he took the time to not only explain scans and results but showed us each scan and explain how they formulate the numbers for results and he answered any questions or concerns we had. We first saw Dr. Mendelson when our daughter was 2 weeks old. She is now 9. Born with a rare connective tissue disorder that mainly affected her spine with severe progressive scoliosis and kyphosis starting shortly after birth, diagnosed via exome sequencing. She also had hip dysplasia and club feet which he treated as well. Dr. Mendelson has always been confident and caring. Very rude, dismissive and condescending. Did not even say hello. The staff was nice and interactive though.
Very grateful for this man he repaired my daughter's severe scoliosis at 78 degree, with congenital heart disease. Very detailed about what he does and good hearted man. Many Thanks!! 🙏
I took my child to Dr Mendelson for an evaluation for concerns with her walking as any parent would do and left that appointment crying. Extremely unprofessional, had zero compassion or care for me or my daughter & basically told me I wasn’t going to get any answers from him. Made assumptions after only meeting my daughter for 5 minutes and had the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. I would not recommend if you truly want a Dr that is caring and understanding of both you and your child
