This review is very, very late in coming. Dr. Klein not only gave me back the use of my thumb after my flexor tendon had been severed for two plus weeks, but gave me mental support as well. I highly recommend this skilled surgeon for any and all hand injuries. I have full use of my left thumb, thanks to him, and his skilled staff of assistants. My injury occurred in October of 06, and I was ready to work again in early 07. Thank you again for saving my most precious opposable digit.
Please do your research before choosing an Orthopedic Surgeon. I did. My wife and I have had numerous health issues over our long lives and so I have learned about choosing a competent doctor. I have been seeing Doctor Klein for over a year now and I feel that he is an outstanding physician and surgeon. And he is a kind and caring man. Look at his education and board certifications. He specializes in hands. Many of the surgeons who treat hand issues are actually plastic surgeons. Extraordinary!
If I could give this doctor no stars, I would. His professionalism with managing my pain was very poor. When telling him how I was still in pain after my surgery for removing a small mass, his answer was trying to explain how something like this shouldn't cause pain. Telling me his fact based on what his books and study's say, instead of listening to me, the patient, and how I am feeling. He would not give me anything to help manage my pain. I know what I'm feeling is pain. How dare he tell me
Business response:
Before surgery, all patients have a preoperative visit where we discuss pain control after surgery. For postoperative pain control, patients are usually given an injection of an anesthetic at the time of surgery, as well as a prescription for pain medication. Because of their addictive potential, narcotic pain medications are tightly controlled by state and federal law. Oxycodone is especially strong and has high addictive potential. Oxycodone refill requests require special consideration.
I have had two carpal tunnel surgeries with Dr.Klien and both times I have been very pleased with them. His office staff, Tim ,went out of his way to rush my second surgery due to my pain level and helped me get a sooner surgery date. He dealt with the insurance company professionally and made it happen. Dr. Klien is very calm and explains everything thoroughly. Which was very important to me. :)
