He is the most unprofessional, rude and insulting physician I have ever encountered in my personal and professional experience. He spent 3 minutes with me the first apointments and cut me off each time I tried to explain my symptoms. Dr. Kim Stearns replaced my right hip in 2013. He explained precisely how it would go, how long I would be out of work and what to expect. The surgery was performed and everything went exactly the way he described. I appreciate the great treatment and followup treatment I've had. The new hip is wonderful and pain is gone. I highly recommend Dr. Stearns for hip replacement.
I was refer to ortopédicos because of pain in my neck and shoulder. I had been in pain for weeks and was finally hopeful something would get done to alleviate my pain. Instead, he saw me for around 3 minutes, would not allow me to finish my explanation, interrupted me as if I was taking up too much of his time, and told me he is a shoulder guy not a neck guy. He stopped my questions and acted as if he would return, a nurse showed up to show me out, I had to ask her the results of my x-rays.

Probably the worst experiences I've had. I could hear the doctor complaining about how I even got on his schedule for that day. He was too busy and he was leaving for spring training. Blew in giving me a painful rudimentary exam, tells me he really squeezed me in, left for 30 seconds to look at my scans and comes back to tell me to do PT and see him as soon as he gets back. Wouldn't answer my question about prognosis and implied at 45 years old I shouldn't expect a fully functional knee.
He performed my hip replacement which I have been having issues with ever since. He has not been helpful, nor supportive as I seek a better outcome. Search elsewhere for your surgeon.
Kim Stearns was rude, dismissive, demeaning and cocky to me. I went to him for a second opinion and he treated me like I had malintentions (which could not be further from the truth of the matter). I feel hopeless and disrespected after meeting with him.
Dr Kim Stearns has been my surgeon/doctor for almost 20 years and is wonderful, kind and talented! Without Dr Stearns I would not be able to walk or to use my arms! He is AMAZING! And a miracle worker!
