The fact that it is hidden in what looks like a closet in the lodge makes it seem like the attractions and activities are an afterthought and probably subpar. Furthermore, the lack of communication with visitors to the park is deplorable. Starved Rock Lodge could improve by providing their customers with a complete list of rules and regulations by time the customer checks in and by not waiting until the customer checks out to try and charge a cleaning fee of $250 all because the smoke alarm went off while the customer was cooking breakfast in the room. No damage was done to the facility in any way and they tried to charge after we already checked out.
