About this business

Barbell-based strength training for trainees of all walks of life. Supervised coaching from Starting Strength Coaches. Strength improves all aspects of our physical existence. It is the ability to produce force against an external resistance and is how we interact with our environment. It is, therefore, an absolute requirement to function normally as a human being. Without sufficient strength, all of our interactions become sub-optimal. This is the place to build strength.

I am a smal-boned woman in her seventies with osteoporosis and scoliosis. With encouragement from my son Alex, I started attending this gym a month ago and already my lower back pain is diminishing! My coach, Caleb is patient and excellent with teaching me form. I am excited and hopeful to start something new to help me regain and keep strength. Thinking this might become a life-long habit. It is never too late to begin!

Coach Caleb makes Starting Strength Tulsa excellent. He makes sure everyone, regardless of gender or age, feels welcome & comfortable. He’s a great teacher, helping us increase strength, safely and with good form. In a short time, I’ve seen my strength improve and injuries diminish. I highly recommend booking an intro session with Caleb to see what the program has to offer.

The live session was so good and answered so many questions that I had on my form. It set me on a trajectory that I did not expect. Through the online coaching I was able to to really fine tune my form. I now feel safer and stronger in all of my lifts and I k... read more

I have been on-again off-again trying to work out consistently for most of my adult life. When I research the most effective ways to do so, I am always led back to barbell training on the core lifts (squat, overhead press, bench press, deadlift). And if there's one authority on mastering these lifts, it's Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength book. I read it many years ago and made good progress, but always had areas that needed improvement and would eventually hit a wall. I came across the Starting Strength gym at 91st and Yale... read more
