I guess rules outweigh common decency. I asked to use the restroom 30 minutes prior to opening seeing as there is nothing else open at 0430 in the morning. Tried calling the store only to get ignored until I finally had to knock on the window to get their attention. They can't let anyone in prior to opening, I just hope the next time this guy needs the kindness of a stranger he receives it.
