So I went to Starbucks today. The coffee? Honestly, pretty good. Like, not mind-blowing, but definitely hit the spot. Got a latte — smooth, warm, did what it needed to do. The store itself had a nice vibe. Music was playing (some indie playlist, I think?), the lighting was cozy, and the chairs were... chair-like. I often went every morning while staying nearby. The partners were very friendly and always seemed busy. However, there were not many places to eat inside, so most of them were takeout guests.
There's a worker named Juan. I swear he has the patience of Jesus. There was what I'd consider a "trying situation" happening with a guest. While other workers would have shifted back in forth, sucked their teeth, rolled their eyes, etc, Juan stood and took care of the situation with such a sincere attitude and dimeanor. Not only did he treat a challenging situation impeccably but he treated every customer afterwards with the same sincerity including myself. He deserves a significant raise. Way to go, Juan!
