They don't carry women's chef coats which is ridiculous... but they do carry small gloves always which is good.

Fabulous I think it is interesting that other reviewers are complaining about paying "high" prices for the quality products at Star. If you want a bargain, go to Kmart. It's worth paying a bit more for a pan that won't begin to disintigrate after a few uses, and the prices at Star are certainly not inflated. The reason this establishment has "open to the public" on their sign is because many stores that sell restaurant-quality stoves, fry machines, etc sell only to other businesses. On the expensive side This is the place to go if you own a restaurant and need commercial appliances. My uncle has been going to them for his restaurant needs for almost 10 years and he loves their items and service. However, it is a bit expensive. He recently bought a commercial panini maker for about $600 and the item is great quality but I saw the same one used on ebay for half the price. Definitely better than Smart & Final but not cheap.
"Open to the Public" Might Excite you... This restaurant supply company brags on their sign "Open to the public" - you think you're getting in on something and going to find great deals. Well, not so much. If you need something super hefty duty that is hard to find, then go for it. Otherwise, not worth the trip.
disneyland for cooks – they have some awesome stuff here. i can and do spend hours when i go and usually end up with stuff i dont need unless im planning to open a restaurant soon. but its fun to look around. their prices are lower then williams sonoma for basically the same stuff. they dont have food items, which is the only downfall but Costco is next door.
