Lease their equipment with caution. If it happens to break down and you’ve only used it for less than a few hours, they will still charge you for the entire day. It’s unfortunate they weren’t even willing to prorate us. Will not be returning business.
RecommendedThank you Star Equipment Cedar Rapids, and particularly Jason, for helping us handle our massive power needs. Takes alot to power all those annealing kilns at our glass Blowing event, and they made it work perfectly. Highly recommend them if you have an equipment rental needs. They have alot more rental items than I would have thought.
Had a problem with a rental, Scott looked into it and made it right.
Rented from the Ames location. Returned a rental the same day I took it out, no damage. Received an extra $107 charge (almost half-again as much as the original rental) on my account the next day that was not explained or disclosed to me before it was charged. Called to question the charge, only explanation was that its a "standard wear charge" of $100 that's applied for the equipment I rented. I bought a machine from out of state from Star Equipment. The machine had some issues when it arrived so angered and 1,000 miles away, I called asking for a fix. The salesman went out of his way for several days trying to resolve the issue. Included the service manager and the store owner. They were willing to return my money and pay to have the machine shipped back if I wasn't happy. As commendable as that offer was, I wanted to keep the machine. Today my vehicle was burglarized on the east side someone from star equipment on 2nd ave called me and said a couple guys droped some of my property in the parking lot. Thanks to quick thinking from the staff at star and the vehicle and suspect description we was able to notify the police. About 1 hour later the vehicle returned to the scene of the crime thinking we had left. After a police chase of over 100 miles an hour we were able to recover most of our other property.
